Based on how often people compare experience with L & J Auto Brokers here, many of you may wonder which dealers consistently offer a better experience. We have a tendency to become vocal and want others to know when a visit doesn't go as smoothly as we'd like. This seems to be our human nature. I rarely praise a restaurant or store but am quick to mention a disappointing visit to others.

I though it would be good to have a spot to share your positive experience with a Hyundai dealership if you have a story to tell. There are many brutal dealers out there so lets take time to learn about the good ones who are doing their part to swim against the typical flow of "stealership" behaviour.

There will certainly be some that have both good and bad experiences at the same dealership but lets stick to the good ones here. Full disclosure on me: I'm a cheapskate and do my own maintenance and rarely use the dealer outside of warranty. Plus I like to tinker and basic maintenance is about the extent of my mechanical abilities.

Surrey Hyundai (Jim Pattison) has done a few warranty repairs on both of our GT's and they have always been great to work with. They do what they say and are thorough. The car is ready when promised and thy have never tried to upsell me on anything. Most recently, they replaced the short block and rear shocks on our black GT and it was perfect. I would recommend them for sure.

Thumbs up!

Glad you got your car repaired under warranty. Hmm, not too many replies to your thread, maybe people didn't see it, there have to be some good Hyundai dealers out there. I would like to know which dealers are good in my area, hope we get some more replies.

I will rate Ourisman Hyundai of Bowie as very good (based on my experience so far). I bought my 2015 Elantra GT in March, I was very pleased with the buying experience, I got a good discount plus Hyundai rebates. I did comparison shopping and they were better than another Hyundai dealer which is closer to my home. The finance guy tried to upsell me on extended warranties etc but that's OK, that's his job and he was polite (I turned everything down). I was impressed by how sharp the guy was, he really understands financing and he gave me good options. For service, I have been there once for a free oil change (first oil change is free). They did a good job and washed my car, looked really nice. They were on schedule for the oil change. I talked to other customers in the waiting area and they all liked the dealer and service department. So far so good.

I know I'm a little late here but I just bought a new Sonata Sport 2.4L with premium package from Island Hyundai in Staten Island, N.Y. Great experience so far with sales dept. and 4 days after purchase the latest ECM software update became available & took car in, had update done at no cost as it was a dealer service campaign. My car was ready in a half hour & service dept was fantastic!!
